81Produce has announced via an official release that one of their voice talents Shinichiro Kamio — who is best known for his role as Rio Mason Busujima in “Hypnosis Mic – Division Rap Battle”, has tested positive for COVID-19 on 20th August 2020.

Kamio has been suffering from a fever on and off from 15th August; after getting tested on 17th August, his results came back positive on 20th August. They are currently ascertaining how he had been infected, as he was not in contact with any known clusters.

81Produce has stated that they will be covering the medical expenses of anyone who may have come into contact with Kamio and possibly also been infected.

Kamio has since recovered and is currently asymptomatic. We wish Kamio-san the best of health!
