Via Kyodo News: Popular Japanese actress Yuko Takeuchi was found dead in an apparent suicide at her home in Tokyo. She was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital earlier today, Sunday — but was confirmed dead on arrival. No suicide note has been found.

An award-winning actress, she received the Japanese Academy Film Prize for outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role for three years in a row from 2004 to 2006. She recently appeared as the female Japanese Sherlock Holmes in the Hulu and HBO Asia collaboration drama “Miss Sherlock”.
