Director Masaaki Yuasa of SCIENCE Saru’s first TV anime project “Kemonozume” — first released in 2006, joins the Netflix line-up from 1st September 2020. Yuasa was in charge of directing, series composition, screenwriting, and storyboarding. The title joins other Yuasa works that have become popular on the worldwide streaming site, such as “DEVILMAN crybaby” and “Japan Sinks”.

“Kemonozumi” follows the forbidden romance between Toshihiko, the latest heir of the Kifuuken school and Yuka, a young woman who is a shokujinki. For generations, the Kifuuken have been hunting the flesh-eating shokujinki — who can also disguise themselves as humans.
