Following the announced cancellation of COMIKET98 last March 2020 due to COVID-19, COMIKET99 has been moved to 2nd til 5th May 2021 will proceed as scheduled. Organisers have promised to keep a close eye on the COVID-19 situation and make prudent decisions with regards to attendance.

As part of the measures to ensure the safety of attendees, the capacity of the venue Aomi Exhibition Hall has been restricted and the number of passes to be issued to exhibitors and circles has been reduced. The usual 200,000 daily attendees will be reduced by multiples of 10,000, however, the organisers still hope to welcome as many as fans as possible.

In the meantime, to replace the upcoming Winter Comiket, Air Comiket 2 will happen on 30th and 31st December 2020.
