Rurouni Kenshin: The Final / The Beginning” has revealed that the film’s premiere has been set for 23rd April 2021. Initially slated for 3rd July and 7th August 2020 respectively, it was tentatively moved to Golden Week 2021 (early May) in consideration of the current COVID-19 situation.

“Rurouni Kenshin: The Final / The Beginning” follow the Jinchuu arc where Kenshin faces off against the arms dealer, Enishi; meanwhile, “The Beginning” will follow the story of how Kenshin got his cross-shaped scar.

The original cast will be reprising their roles, including Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, Taketo Tanaka as Yahiko Myoujin, and Yuu Aoi as Megumi Takani.

Yosuke Eguchi will also return as Hajime Saitou, while Mackenyu is joining the cast as antagonist Anishi Yukishiro. Kasumi Arimura is also joining the cast as Kenshin’s wife, Tomoe Yukishiro.
