Via Comic Natalie: Gege Akutami, author of mystery-horror manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” , will be making his first (?!) TV appearance to receive his trophy for winning the “Manga Kobayashi Manga Awards 2021”.

The “Manga Kobayashi Manga Award” has been held every year since 2013, given away by the TV programme “Manga Kobayashi” hosted by Kendo Kobayashi. Akutami’s appearance on the show will be split into two parts; the first part will be broadcast from 23:00 JST / 22:00 SGT on 30th January, and the final part will be broadcast from 23:00 JST / 22:00 SGT on 27th February.

The 2nd cour of the TV anime adaptation of “Jujutsu Kaisen” is currently airing, starring Junya Enoki, Yuuma Uchida, Yuichi Nakamura, Asami Seto, and Junichi Suwabe. The show is animated by Studio MAPPA of “Yuri!!! ON ICE”, “Kakegurui”, “Zombieland Saga”, and “Attack on Titan: The Final Season” fame.

“Jujutsu Kaisen” tells the story of Yuuji Itadori, a high school student who joins his school’s Occult Club. When the Occult Club accidentally unseal a cursed item — a rotting finger, Yuuji swallows the finger to protect his friends. Yuuji becomes the host of Sukuna — a powerful Curse, and has been condemned to find and consume the rest of Sukuna’s fingers to destroy it for all eternity.
