The animated adaptation of “Mo Dao Zu Shi” will be airing in Japan with a Japanese dubbed version in January 2021, and has released a video of the ending theme “Kiro” by Aimer. The dub stars Ryohei Kimura, Shinnosuke Tachibana, Hikaru Midorikawa, Saori Hayami, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Yuki Kaji, Souma Saitou, Hanae Natsuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Ayako Kawasumi, Show Hayami, Kenta Miyake and many more.

Based on the Chinese BL web novel of the same title, the show was produced by Tencent Video, and will be released in Japan by Sony Music Solutions and Aniplex. Tencent also produced the live-action drama adaptation of “Mo Dao Zu Shi” titled “The Untamed”; the 50-episode drama is currently available on WeTV and Netflix.

“Mo Dao Zu Shi” tells the story of Wei WuXian, a young martial artist who strove to use a taboo method of cultivation. Shunned by the entire cultivation realm, he died at the hands of his adoptive brother Jiang Cheng just as he helped them defeat a powerful evil sect.

After thirteen years, his soul was summoned back into the living world, and he begins to travel with his former childhood rival Lan WangJi. Together, they strive to unravel the mystery behind a gruesome murder, as well as expose the nefarious plot that caused Wei WuXian’s death thirteen years prior.
