28 Mar (Sun): 9th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE　〜2nd Members Live〜

Approximately a year and a half after the formation of Nogizaka46, the fourteen of the 2nd generation members, joined the group on 28th March 2013. Even though the 2nd Generation members of Nogizaka46 have begun their activities, it was not all smooth sailing.

All of the 2nd Generation members started out as “Kenkyuusei (Trainee)”. During the release of the 7th single “Barrette” in November 2013, it was surprisingly revealed that Miona Hori was selected to be the group’s center. However, the full promotion of the 2nd Generation members to full members took two years from the day of their joining to happen.

In March 2020, the long-awaited concert featuring the 2nd Generation members, “Nogizaka46’s All Night Nippon Presents, Nogizaka46 2nd Generation Live” was confirmed. However, it was cancelled as a result of the spread of COVID-19. As a replacement, a talk-show centric event stream “Nogizaka46 Maboroshi no 2 kisei live @ SHOW ROOM” was held instead.

One year on in 28th March 2021, to commemorate the 8th anniversary of their joining the group, a live concert featuring only the eight members of the 2nd Generation, will be held — titled “9th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE　〜2nd Members Live〜”.

With this concert, Miona Hori, who has been the driving force for the 2nd Generation members, will graduate from the group.

Nogizaka46 was formed on 21st August 2011, when thirty-three individuals were selected from 38,934 auditionees. Before the 2nd generation members was assembled in March 2013, group activities were limited mostly to the 1st generation members; however, this is the first concert in Nogizaka46’s history to bear the name “1st Members”.

Having started with thirty-three members, Nogizaka46’s 1st generation members now only has eight members remaining. Despite that, these eight members are the only ones who know everything about Nogizaka46, since their debut nine years ago. The true meaning of the “9th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE” could be that this is a concert by the 1st generation members.

Fans can look forward to the passionate performance of the eight people who know Nogizaka46 the best.
