Via Comic Natalie: the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards have been announced the winners for 2021: Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke Nomura’s “Blue Lock” for the Shounen category, Megumi Morino’s “Hananoi-kun To Koi No Yamai” for the Shoujo category, and Kiwa Irie’s “Yuria-sensei no Akai Ito” for the General category.

“Blue Lock” is a soccer manga depicting a radical new training regimen: to isolate 300 young players in a prison-like institution and put them through rigorous training. “Hananoi-kun To Koi No Yamai” follows the story of Hotaru Hinase is a first-year high school student who treasures her family and friends above all else. U a young girl unable to understand romance and decides she will be content living without it — until a handsome honour student, Hananoi falls in love with her. Finally, “Yuria-sensei no Akai Ito” is a family drama about the 50-year-old heroine Yuria who discovers that her husband has a young boy for a lover.

The 45th Kodansha Manga Awards Selection Committee consists of Tsunami Umino, Etsushi Ogawa, Koji Kumeta, Akiko Higashimura, Norifusa Mita, Waki ​​Yamato, and Makoto Yukimura. Winners will receive a certificate, a bronze statue, and a cash prize of JPY 1M.
