Kentaro Miura — renowned manga artist who is famous the world over for his dark fantasy manga “BERSERK”, died of acute aortic dissection last 6th May 2021. He was aged 54.

The announcement was made by his editorial team at Young Animal — where “BERSERK” is being serialised, via the official “BERSERK” Twitter account.

An unofficial translation follows:

Kentaro Miura-sensei — the author of “Berserk”, passed away last 6th May 2021 due to acute aortic dissection. We would like to express our utmost respect and gratitude to Miura-sensei’s work and pray for the repose of his soul.
