Via the Playstation Blog: “Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut” will be out on both the PS5 and PS4 consoles this coming 20th August! In addition to the critically acclaimed, award-winning base game, new content will also be included in the “Director’s Cut” — which retails at approximately SG$95 for the PS5 version and approximately SG$80 for the PS4 version.
The neighbouring island of Iki will be the setting of a whole new chapter in Jin’s adventure. Travelling to the island to investigate rumours of Mongol invaders, Jin finds himself caught up in events that reveal his deeply troubled past. A new line-up of Trophies can be unlocked for the new Iki chapter.
PS5 Exclusive Features
Cutscenes on the PS5 will now offer lip-synching for the Japanese dub. Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will be updated in the Director’s Cut, as well as added improvements to 3D audio, load times, 4K resolution options, and framerates of up to 60 FPS. If you are already playing the game on the PS4, you will also be able to transfer your save info and continue your game on the PS5.
Updates and Upgrades
All players will receive a patch with some new accessibility options for alternate controller layouts, as well as the option to enable a target lock-on during combat. For “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” players, future updates already on the pipeline will be available at no additional charge if you have any version of Ghost of Tsushima on either console.
If you already own “Ghost of Tsushima” on the PS4, you can upgrade to “Director’s Cut” for the PS4 at approximately SG$27, or “Director’s Cut” for the PS5 at approximately SG$40. If you bought “Director’s Cut” for the PS4, you can opt to upgrade to the PS5 version at around SG$13.
“Ghost of Tsushima” is an action-adventure stealth game which tells the story of Jin Sakai, one of the last samurai on Tsushima Island, during the Mongol invasion of 1274. “Ghost of Tsushima” has received strong support from the local government of the city of Tsushima in Nagasaki Prefecture. They have even put together a guide for fans to visit places of interest featured in the game: check it out via Nagasaki Tabi-net.
