Via Comic Natalie: the key visual and main staff of the upcoming theatrical-length OVA adaptation of Kaoru Hayamine’s novel “Kaitou QUEEN wa Circus ga O-suki” has just been revealed. Scheduled for release in 2022 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its publication, this is the first time the title — also known to fans as “Mirage QUEEN”, has been adapted to anime in its long and varied history.

Saori Den, who was in charge of storyboarding for “Pokemon” and “BNA”, will be directing their full-length feature for the first time. Mariko Kunizawa, who wrote the screenplay of “The Case Files of Jeweler Richard”, is in charge of the script. Kumiko Kawashima is in charge of character design, while Eastfish Studio is in charge of animation production.

“Kaitou QUEEN wa Circus ga O-suki” follows the story of a mysterious thief of unknown age and gender, who flies around the world in an airship, stealing priceless valuables as they go. However, when one of their plans to steal a special gem is foiled by another group of robbers — a circus troupe, the two parties begin a cat-and-mouse game to prove who is the best thief.
