Kintetsu Yamada’s “Ase to Sekken” will be adapted into a live-action TV drama, with the broadcast run starting on 3rd February 2022 as part of the MBS “Drama Special Zone” block. The manga was serialized in Kodansha’s digital seinen manga magazine “D Morning” from June 2018 to August 2019 and later in “Morning” from October 2019 to January 2021, with eleven collected volumes in print.

“Ase to Sekken” follows the story of Asako Yaeshima, a typical “office lady” at the soap maker Lilia Drop. Asako has a genetic condition that causes her to sweat a lot and causes her to suffer from anxiety due to her body odour. Asako thinks the scent of the soap produced by Lilia Drop is the only thing that covers up her body odour and eases her anxiety.

However, when Kotaro Natori — the company’s lead product developer, gets a deep whiff of Asako’s natural smell, he states that he loves it and finds Asako inspirational. As the two continue to meet at work and get comfortable with each other, they start a romantic relationship.

EXILE’s Kanta Sato will play the role of Kotaro, and Yuno Ohara will play the role of Asako.
