Later this week, the last of 3 big game Expos of the gaming industry will take place. At the famous Makuhari Messe spanning 8 whole halls is the annual Tokyo Game Show!

With all three consoles finally hitting the major markets as of last week, Next Generation is finally Current Generation. And with that, we will finally see a host of entirely new games. As I make my way to Makuhari Messe later in the week to bring you all the latest news from Tokyo Game Show live, here’s a sneak peek of what you might expect to see from the biggest companies!

Bandai Namco Games

Gundam Breaker 2

The sequel to the PlayStation Vita title Gundam Breaker, Gundam Breaker 2 is a Gunpla-Building, Hack-and-Slash title! It seems to be a companion title to Gundam Build Fighters Try just like its predecessor. In this iteration, not much is known at the moment but tons of new customisations have been teased on Famitsu such as the GP02A Physalis, 00 Qant, Beargguy III and Kampfer to name a few!

Release Date: This Winter

 

God Eater 2 Rage Burst

God Eater 2: Rage Burst is the updated version of God Eater 2 for the PS Vita, but this iteration will also be God Eater’s first appearance on the PS4 as well. This title update brings all new characters, stories and monsters to the game. More information will be made known at the TGS stage as well as the God Eater 5th Anniversary.

Capcom

Monster Hunter 4G

The extremely popular Monster Hunter franchise gets its latest title update early October in Japan and the MH4 series will make its Western debut next year in January! This version also brings new monsters to challenge as well as the tough as nails G rank hunts against the most dangerous versions of the monsters you normally face.

Release Date: October 11 2014 (Japan)

 

Dai-Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodo Ryuunosuke no Bouken

The latest Phoenix Wright title stars Ryuunosuke Naruhodo is set way back in the 19th Century where he, an ancestor of Phoenix Wright, is sent to London to become a Defense Attorney. Ryuunosuke is said to be a man with a strong sense of justice but always seeming to fall into danger. The cast is all new and even famous detectives Sherlock Holmes and his aide Watson makes an appearance. More information will be made known at the event.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Director Hideo Kojima’s latest and biggest adventure starring Big Boss once again makes its appearance at Tokyo Game Show. Snake’s tale of revenge was recently announced to have a PC port coming sometime in the future. A new full-fledged trailer will be shown at TGS with more details being made known as well. Here’s a sneak peek as to what Kojima has in store for us next week.

World Soccer Winning Eleven 2015

This year’s update of the hit Football series is once again powered by the Kojima Productions’ inhouse Fox Engine with near life like players will hit stores later this year. Boasting an all new system with upgrades, Pro Evo stakes its claim as this year’s best football title. Will it succeed this year?

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War & Nightmare

The upgraded version of one of Koei’s lesser known titles Bladestorm gets an upgraded port for the PS4, Xbox One and the PS3 as well. Players are now able to control their own troops while manipulating 4 generals and 200 soldiers to take down their enemy. Aside from the England and France Hundred Years’ War scenario, it also offers the new Nightmare mode where players face off against fantasy creatures – and control them as well! It also sports a new multiplayer mode and character edit feature.

Microsoft

Psycho Pass: Happiness without Choice

This Xbox One exclusive title is set during the first six episode of the hit anime Psycho-Pass written by Gen Urobuchi. New characters will be made as playable characters as well as an entirely new antagonist. The setting will change from the large city to a remote island.

Sega

Ryu Ga Gotoku 0: Place of Oath

The latest title is a prequel to all of the other games in the series. It stars Kauma Kiryu and Goro Majima in their 20’s in Kamurocho and Soutenburi. Kiryu is a debt collector for the Tojo, while Majima attempts to run a cabaret club in Soutenburi. The game introduces many of the characters in the franchise and their origins.

Phantasy Star Nova

The newest Phantasy Star title for PS Vita with a huge focus on the single-player action was recently announced. It also has local ad-hoc multiplayer options for four players to take on missions together. Enemies from Phantasy Star Online 2 will make an appearance in the game as well. New classes were announced for the game and more information will be made known at the event.

Bloodborne

The latest title from From Software in collaboration with Sony Japan studios, it is a spiritual sequel to Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. It is set in Yharnam, a city known for its medical remedies. However the city seems to be overrun by a curse and the protagonist is one of those travellers here for said remedies, navigating around the city’s insane inhabitants and monsters.

Release Date: February 15th 2015

Square Enix

Dragon Quest Heroes

The first Dragon Quest title for the PlayStation console in many years, it is a hack and slash action title by Square Enix and Omega Force (of Koei Tecmo). It will be a Dragon Quest game in the style of Dynasty Warriors where the heroes face hordes of monsters from the franchise in order to complete missions. A silver PS4 with a cute Slime USB cover was announced.

Release date: 2015

 

Bravely Second

The sequel to 2013’s hit title Bravely Default, Bravely Second is a Nintendo 3DS title that follows shortly after the resolution of Bravely Default’s plot. A new character, Magnolia Arch will appear as a citizen of the world’s moon and the last of her kind after a demon attacked her homeland. The game is said to explore more of Luxendarc.

 

And here are some of the few big titles being shown this year at Tokyo Game Show. More titles will be announced in the course of the next few days, so definitely keep a lookout on AFA Channel for the latest updates.
