Boruto: Naruto the Movie is premiering this 7 August 2015. A leaked magazine scan from the 19th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, has unveiled the movie’s new visual image, with Boruto clearly taking over his father’s main character spot and saying “Watch me crappy old man!”

Well, it is his time to shine after all, and it seems he would not let his dear old dad steal the show from him. The same issue of Jump! also revealed character design sketches for Boruto and Sarada (or Salada). Naruto creator, Masashi Kishimoto himself is in charge of the character design, and he also wrote the script along with Chaos Dragon’s Ukyou Kodachi. Kishimoto is also the movie’s chief production supervisor, so this just proves that even with the main series already over, he is still as busy as ever.

Boruto is seen with whiskers just like Naruto, and sporting the Uzumaki crest. Sarada on the other hand sports a colder expression, just like her father, and also sports the Uchiha family crest. Boruto is the son of Naruto and Hinata, while Sarada is the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie will be directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita, who is definitely no stranger to Naruto as he directed several episodes for Naruto Shippuuden and was the animation director for Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie. The magazine also stated that the seiyuus for Boruto and Sarada will be revealed in issue #20 of Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, scheduled for release on 13 April. More announcements about the movie will be revealed in the future.
