Level-5’s hit video game franchise, Yo-Kai Watch, has become one of Japan’s most successful gaming franchises. And now, even the U.S. state of Hawaii is banking on the popularity of Yo-Kai Watch to help its already-strong tourism industry!
Last March, Jibanyan was officially appointed as the American state’s goodwill ambassador for children, and they have even released a new tourism video to promote the islands to the Japanese people
Titled “Aloha! Yo-kai Watch Rakuen Hawaii de Geragerapou!!”, the 2-minute animated short introduces the four main Hawaiian islands as well as a few tourist attractions which include the world-famous Waikiki Beach and the Haleakala National Park.
The Yo-Kai Watch video game is set to be released in North America this winter 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS while Disney XD will be airing the anime’s episodes some time later this year. An official website for Yo-Kai Watch’s Hawaiian tourism promotion has also been opened
