After touring with Lady Gaga back in 2014, the metal idol band known as Baby Metal will be paying a visit to American late night TV for the very first time, as they will perform live for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

This historic late night TV appearance was made to promote the idol group’s upcoming new album, Metal Resistence, and to broaden the group’s following in the United States. Previously, The Late Show hosted Hatsune Miku back when David Letterman was still the show’s host. This will be the new host, Stephen Colbert’s first time to host a Japanese performance since taking over for the legendary Dave, and leaving his former fake news show, the Colbert Report on Comedy Central.

American audiences were given a better look at Baby Metal’s three members, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and Yui Mizono (Yuimetal), back in 2014 when they served as opening acts for the one and only Lady Gaga for her ArtRAVE tour across the United States. The band has gained a cult following in the country, and will be going into their first American late night talk show appearance.
