MAGES. head Chiyomaru Shikura (the creator of the science adventure series Steins;Gate) has a new TV anime in the works. The series will be based on his light novel series, which is titled Occultic;Nine, which has been described as a “paranormal science” story. It is slightly different from the usual “science adventure” series like Chaos; Head, Chaos; Child, Robotics; Notes, and Steins; Gate. Slated to be released later this year, a new PV for the upcoming series was also revealed:

The announcement PV also reveals the titular Occultic;Nine, a group of nine individuals who are linked by the mysterious ocult blog, “Choujou Kagaku Kirikiri Basara.” Their members, as well as their seiyuu, have been revealed by the video, and they are:

  • Yuuki Kaji as Yuuta Gamon
  • Ayane Sakura as Ryoka Narusawa
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Sarai Hashigami
  • Hitomi Yoshida as Miyu Aikawa
  • Shizuka Itou as Touko Sumikaze
  • Miyuki Sawashiro as Aria Kurenaino
  • Kisho Taniyama as Kiryuu Kusakabe
  • Mamiko Noto as Ririka Nishizono
  • Tetsuya Kakihara as Shun Moritsuka

The blog is run by Yuuki Kaji’s character, Yuuta Gamon, and several paranormal irregularities are happening around these nine individuals, and these events may alter the world as we know it. The light novels’ illustrator, pako, celebrated the announcement of the anime with a new key visual, featuring the nine.

Overlap Bunko is publishing the light novels, which were created by Shikura back in 2012. However, Shikura has stressed that Occultic;Nine is not part of the Science Adventure series, which were released as visual novel games.
