Japan is suffering record heatwaves right now, causing heat strokes and all sorts of health problems. However, it seems that they’re also melting a few Japanese figures. Specifically, the ankles of a few figures gave way after the heat softened them up. Japanese Twitter user @genkinokakera recently posted a photo of his figure of Evangelion’s Ritsuko Akagi. Well, let’s just say that she’s been “hit by a smooth criminal”

However, figures buckling under their own weight are not unheard of in Japan. Past heatwaves have had their own casualties. One twitter user even pointed out that it’s a summer tradition already…
In other words, the legendarily hot Japanese summers really live up to their name.
