One of the biggest features of Anime Festival Asia that fans always look forward is the “I Love Anisong“ concerts that ends each night with a bang. The best selection of Japanese musical talents showcase their famous songs, and this time fans attending the first day of the concert are in for a treat! For the first time outside Japan AND the first time after 6 years, the STARCHILD DREAM project is coming to Singapore!
Originally held in Kobe, STARCHILD DREAM is a event focusing on the artists under the STARCHILD label that went on from 2003 to 2008. Artistes such as Megumi Hayashibara, angela, Yui Horie, can/goo, Ami Koshimizu and Ai Nonaka have made appearances at the event over the years. In its first iteration outside of Japan, three STARCHILD artists who will be performing on Day 1 of Anime Festival Asia’s I Love Anisong concert will be taking part in this mini event! Here are the artists performing:
A mainstay of both I Love Anisong concerts in Anime Festival Asia and STARCHILD DREAM, angela has not missed any STARCHILD DREAM event, and will be one of the guests in this project. Having won numerous awards for their hit single from the anime series Knights of Sidonia titled “Sidonia”, angela will once again be rocking the stage for the STARCHILD DREAM project. Consisting of vocalist atsuko and guitarist KATSU, they will be bringing their many years of experience to the stage and perform a variety of anisong. Perhaps we will see their rendition of A Cruel Angel’s Thesis on stage?

Making her first appearance at Anime Festival Asia and I Love Anisong this year, and another mainstay of the STARCHILD DREAM project is Yui Horie! Having recently appeared in Cross Ange, Persona 4 and Golden Time, which is currently airing on Animax, she is a seiyuu-singer who also sings for the anime she has appeared in. Having sang a number of songs for Toradora!, Dog Days and recently The World’s End for Golden Time, she will also be taking part in this year’s STARCHILD DREAM in Singapore! Yui Horie and angela have collaborated before at the 2nd STARCHILD DREAM event as an special collaboration unit called horigela. Could we see a reunion at this year’s I Love Anisong 2014?

And lastly we also have Eri Kitamura, who is making both her I Love Anisong and STARCHILD DREAM debut in Singapore this year. Another seiyuu-singer who have appeared in hit animes such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Knights of Sidonia, she sings a wide variety of genres such as pop-rock to even metal! Having sang Birth for Sunday Without God and Tenohira-show– for Knights of Sidonia, I’m really excited about seeing her perform alongside Yui Horie and angela at STARCHILD DREAM!

STARCHILD DREAM will be taking place on the 5th of December at the I Love Anisong concert at this year’s Anime Festival Asia!
