Japan has brought up some very unlikely and surprising collaborations in the past. Now, Mr. Osomatsu has surprised also surprised a lot of people with its latest collaboration. This is because the Matsuno Sextuplets have teamed up with the classic tokusatsu hero, Ultraman!

The anime’s character designer, Naoyuki Asano, illustrated the collaboration’s visual himself. The collaboration also features the other characters from the anime as kaijuu.

Of course, this means that the collaboration will also feature new anime merchandise! Dash Stores in Ikebukuro, Hokkaido, Fukuoka, and Miyagi, as well as Shinjuku Marui Annex’s 6th floor event space will be selling these goodies in Japan. Animate Cafes in Akihabara and Osaka will also be selling several goodies from the collaboration as well. They will kick off the collaboration in the Ikebukuro Dash store on 9th December 2017.

But why did these two series team up? This is because it turns out that the original Osomatsu-kun and Ultraman made their debuts on the same year, 1966. Yes folks, they are well over 50 years old now, and that speaks volumes on the staying power for both franchises.
