Netflix has been very active in anime lately, and are also releasing new exclusive anime left and right. During the Annecy International Festival of Animated Film, they announced that they’re also renewing one of their originals, B: The Beginning. They revealed that the anime will be getting that second season “soon”.

Production IG will once again be animating the series, with Kazuto Nakazawa and Yoshinobu Yamakawa directing it. Nakazawa also serves as the anime’s character designer, as well as its key animation supervisor. Here’s how Netflix describes the anime:

In a world powered by advanced technology, crime and action sweep through the archipelagic nation of Cremona. Chief among the major players is “Killer B” – a serial killer who has thrown the city into chaos. The stories of Koku, the protagonist, Keith, a legendary investigator of the Royal Investigation Service, and a mysterious criminal organization intertwine on the path to reach their objectives. A wide variety of unforgettable characters surround them on the journey, as they attempt to stop a chain of horrific crimes in this suspense drama.

The announcement comes as the anime competes in the TV films category at Annecy, France. Expect the international streaming service to reveal more details about the anime in the days ahead.
