Hollywood industry portal Screen Daily has revealed that Global Road Entertainment –which was previously reported to be in talks with Imagine Entertainment and Bandai Namco to produce a live-action Hollywood adaptation of the anime “Tiger & Bunny”, is on the verge of financial collapse.

According to Screen Daily, Global Road claimed in February 2018 that they were expecting a cash injection of approximately USD $200M from investors in both Asia and the West, however it seems that the deal did not push through. The company attempted a last-ditch effort to raise funds last week, in order to maintain operations; however this attempt appears to likewaise have failed, as management has spoken to staff this Tuesday — 21st August 2018, about the company’s next steps.

“Tiger & Bunny” first aired in 2011, and was produced by Sunrise under the direction of Keiichi Satou. The screenplay was written by Masafumi Nishida, while original character designs were by Masakazu Katsura. The series was memorable to many fans for featuring product placement from real world brands such as Pepsi, Bandai, Amazon Japan, SoftBank, and Domino’s Pizza.
