Hiroaki Samura’s Blade of the Immortal (Mugen no Juunin) manga is getting a brand new anime adaptation.

Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine has revealed the cast members for the anime, as well as their character visuals. Kenjiro Tsuda leads the cast as Manji, while Ayane Sakura is voicing Rin Asano.

The anime will premiere sometime in October, though Amazon Prime Video will be exclusively streaming the series. This new anime is described as a “complete anime adaptation.”

Samura launched the manga on December 1993 and completed the run back in 2012. It then received an anime adaptation in 2008, as well as a live-action film in 2017.

Here’s how Dark Horse comics, which distributes the manga in English, describes the manga’s story:

Manji, a ronin warrior of feudal Japan, has been cursed with immortality. To rid himself of this curse and end his life of misery, he must slay one thousand evil men! His quest begins when a young girl seeks his help in taking revenge on her parents’ killers . . . and his quest won’t end until the blood of a thousand has spilled!
