After years of waiting, the official website for the Evangelion anime films has finally announced an exact release date for Evangelion 3.0+1.0. According to the website, the anime film will premiere on 27th June 2020.

And yes folks, there will be rewards for those who purchase their tickets to the film in advance… but it’s for Japan only though. These include a CD, a diorama stand, a figure, a portable fan, a pouch, a cushion, and also a bandana autographed by Hideaki Anno himself.

The staff originally announced the film back in 2012, but delays plague its production almost lasting a decade. Apparently, one of the main reasons for the delay is creator Hideaki Anno’s depression during that period.

Evangelion 3.0+1.0 will act as as the conclusion to the Rebuild of Evangelion anime films. Studio Khara is producing the animation, with the Hideaki Anno directing the film and writing the script, of course.
