The staff of the Re:Zero TV anime have announced that they’re re-releasing the anime’s very first season. However, they’re doing so with a twist. They’re re-editing the series and adding in new footage, as well reworking a few scenes. They even released a new key visual for this reworked first season:

Each episode will run for an hour, and they are promising some changes. It will premiere on 1st January and will run through the winter 2020 season. AT-X, along with Tokyo MX, TV Hokkaido, KHB Higashinippon Broadcasting Co., Ltd., TV Aichi, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting Co., Ltd. and BS11 will air the anime.

However, that’s not all, because after the reworked Season 1 airs, Season 2 will finally premiere! The staff also announced that the new season will premiere sometime in April 2020, right after the rework finishes its broadcast run.

The second season itself will continue from where the anime previously left off, just right after when Subaru and his allies finished off the great white whale Demon Beast.
