Anime Japan 2020 — the biggest anime and related contents event in Japan, has announced via their official website that the event — slated for the 21st to the 24th of March 2020, is officially cancelled due to COVID-19.

With the spread of the “New Coronavirus Infection”, the government has announced a policy on self-restraint of events yesterday Wednesday, 26th February 26.

We decided to cancel the event in consideration of the safety of visitors who are anime fans and everyone involved in Anime Japan.

We apologize to the anime fans who were looking forward to the event and those who were preparing for the event.

This decision was made in order to prevent the spread of the infection.

This is just the latest in a slew of cancellations for many large-scale events, including the second day of “Perfume 8th Tour 2020 “P Cubed” in Dome” and L’Arc～en～Ciel ARENA TOUR MMXX.
