Two iconic Japanese celebrities are teaming up, and it ain’t for a reason you would expect… kinda. Legendary horror mangaka Junji Ito (Yes, THAT Junji Ito who inspired many of your nightmares) and singer/actress/illustrator/seiyuu/Jojo fangirl/gamer Shoko “Shokotan” Nakagawa are really teaming up in real life. The odd couple is working together because of their mutual love of… CATS! In fact, they have just launched a cat-themed apparel line together. Because why not, right?

Shokotan posted about the collab on Twitter, and even modeled a top from the collaboration. Junji ito himself drew the cat illustrations in her top.

It’s still uncertain whether the dress shirt is a one-off, or the two are actually planning to release a full line of cat-themed apparel.

So far, Shokotan hasn’t revealed anything about the new clothes either. However, it looks like they will be revealing more details soon enough.

And speaking of Junji Ito, the legendary mangaka is inspiring a new movement abroad. It looks like fans are using his art as a push-back against those ahegao hoodies which have been popping up around anime conventions.

Twitter user @UltimaHeart posted a photo of said friend’s hoodie. Needless to say, the post went viral.

As for the Ahegao Hoodies, several anime conventions around the world have now outright banned them. And from the looks of things, the Junji Ito hoodies might be a good choice to replace them…

However, there should be a hoodie featuring Junji Ito’s cats too…
