Shueisha has announced via an official press release that the company has successfully won a lawsuit against Chinese pirated manga website “Shu Hui Man Hua Wang” (鼠絵漫画網), which the Japanese publisher has sued for translating and uploading Shueisha titles such as “ONE PIECE” to its illegal archive.

The convicted individual opened the site in 2013 to earn ad revenue from his illegal uploads, but it was not until 30th October 2019 that he was arrested for his activities. The Shanghai court’s decision on the case was released on 24th April 2020, and the guilty party has been made to pay for damages of up to JPY 1.2M, as well as serve a prison sentence of up to three years.
