STUDIO4°C will be adapting Akihiro Nishino’s storybook “Poupelle of Chimney Town” as a feature-length animated film, with a scheduled playdate set for December 2020. It will be directed by Yusuke Hirota and will feature additional scenes not shown in the source material.

“Poupelle of Chimney Town” tells the story of a pile of trash that gains a human heart and becomes a lucid trash-man. The trashman befriends a young boy named “Lubicchi” who treats him well, but when the other children bully him for being friends with the trashman, the two are forced to separate.
