Via NHK: Japanese actor Akira Kubodera — who had roles in “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” and “Kamen Rider Blade”, was found dead at home in a suspected suicide. He was 43.

Kubodera was found unresponsive at his Tokyo apartment on Friday — 13th November, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital where he was rushed to; his agency announced his death in a press statement on Saturday — 14th November.

Initial police investigations strongly suggest that the cause of death was suicide. As a film and stage actor, Kubodera’s mental well-being was very likely affected by the lack of recent work opportunities due to the effects of COVID-19.
