The TV anime adaptation of the game “The World Ends with You” will start broadcasting from April 2021 on the MBS, TBS, and 28 related stations nationwide as part of the “Super Animeism” block. “Neku” will be played by Kouki Uchiyama, “Shiki” will be played by Anna Hachimine, “Beat” will be played by Subaru Kimura, “Rhyme” will be played by Ayana Taketatsu, and finally “Joshua” will be played by Ryohei Kimura.

In addition, an entirely new game set in “The World Ends with You” universe will be released by Square Enix in the summer of 2021. Titled “NEO: The World Ends with You”, the game will star Yuuma Uchida as “Rindo”, Chiharu Sawashiro as “Fret”, Mina Katahira as “Nagi”, Takayuki Fujimoto as the Reaper “Minamimoto”, and Daiki Hamano as “Game Master Shiba”.

“The World Ends With You” takes place in a fictional version of the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, Japan — which is split into the Realground or the real world, and the Underground where entities known as Reapers play a deadly Reapers Game. Protagonist Neku plays the Reaper Game over the course of three weeks with partners Shiki, Joshua, and Beat.
