Via Comic Natalie: the new TV anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei’s “SHAMAN KING” has revealed that both their opening and ending themes will be by legendary seiyuu Megumi Hayashibara, who also plays Anna Kyoyama in the show.

The main cast Katsuyuki Konishi and Minami Takayama will be reprising their roles as Amidamaru and Hao respectively, while Yoh will now be played by Yoko Hikasa.

“SHAMAN KING” tells the story of a young boy named Yoh Asakura, a shaman linking the real world and the spirit world. Yoh’s ambition is to become the Shaman King and contact the Great Spirit, who will grant him the ability to reshape the world. But to become the Shaman King, he must first win the Shaman Fight, a battle held once every 500 years.

Hiroyuki Takei debuted “SHAMAN KING” in 1998, before abruptly ending it in 2004, and releasing a “true ending” for the manga in 2009. The series spawned a multimedia franchise including a TV anime adaptation and several spin-off manga titles.
