Via Comic Natalie: the highly-anticipated, long-delayed release of “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0” — previously announced for 27th June 2020, now set for 23rd January 2021, has again been postponed. The film’s release was moved due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Japan, particularly in the Kanto region.

There is no word yet if the release of Hikaru Utada’s “One Last Kiss” digital EP — the movie’s theme song, will also be postponed. It was set for 24th January 2021, one day after the movie was released. A physical EP containing all the songs that Utada has provided for the “Evangelion New Theatrical Version” series — such as “Beautiful World” and “Sakura Nagashi”, wa also scheduled for release on the 27th of January.

“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0” is the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, based on the 1995 anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion”; the film was originally slated for release in 2015.
