Via Famitsu: Universal Studios Japan has announced that the opening of “Super Nintendo World“, which is scheduled to open on 4th February 2021 — will be postponed due to the State of Emergency that was set by Osaka local government due to the alarming number cases of COVID-19.

The opening will be rescheduled to 4th February 2021 when the State of Emergency has been lifted.

“Super Nintendo World” is dubbed the world’s first theme park section centred on Nintendo characters and their world. One of the main attractions is “MARIOKART Koopa’s Challenge”, where riders don special AR goggles in the shape of Mario’s hat, to play a round of Mario Kart. Race results are determined by how well the riders drive through the course.
