Via Comic Natalie: an original short anime “Deji Meets Girl” will be broadcast from October, to wrap up the “Super Animeism” block on Japanese network MBS and TBS. “Deji Meets Girl” will be directed by Ushio Tazawa — who is best known for his animation work in Makoto Shinkai’s earlier movies such as “The Place Promised in Our Early Days”, and animated by Liden Films — who are in charge of this season’s hit anime “Tokyo Revengers”.

“Deji Meets Girl” is set in the tropical paradise of Okinawa, as “Deji” is an Okinawan word meaning “extreme” or “difficult”. The story centres on Maise Higa — a young girl who helps out in their family hotel. She meets a young boy visiting from the mainland name “Ichiro Suzuki” — clearly not his real name, as strange things start to occur.
