Via Comic Natalie: the second season of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” — originally slated for broadcast in October 2021, has been officially postponed to April 2022! The delay was caused by a number of different factors, although the production side did not share any specifics. The series will be directed by Masato Jimbo, with the animation to be produced by Kinema Citrus and DR MOVIE, and the main cast reprising their roles from the previous season.
The anime adapts Aneko Yusagi’s hit light novels series, which follows Naofumi, a gamer who gets transported into an alternate world where he becomes the Shield Hero. Unfortunately, his only party member abandoned him, and the other heroes disdain him. The royalty also treats him like trash, unlike the other summoned heroes. Because of that, he must learn to survive on his own.
