Via Comic Natalie: Studio Colorido’s third feature-length animated film “Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi” will be produced as a Netflix original. Aside from being exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix in 2022, the new film will also play in cinemas all over Japan.

“Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi” will be directed by Hiroyasu Ishida — who worked on “Sonny Boy” and “Penguin Highway”, featuring character designs by Akihiro Nagae and Fumi Kato — who also worked on Penguin Highway” and “Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu”.

“Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi” tells the story of Kousuke and Natsume, childhood friends who have drifted apart as they reached the sixth grade. One summer, they both visit the housing complex they grew up in which was scheduled to be demolished, and get caught up in a mysterious phenomenon.
