“FRUITS BASKET -prelude-” — a new edit of the TV anime adaptation of Natsuki Takaya’s manga of the same title, featuring additional footage, will be screened at theatres in Japan starting 18th February 2022. “FRUITS BASKET -prelude-” will centre on Tohru Honda’s mother Kyoko’s past. A theatre-release-only limited edition BD will also be released at the same time as the cinema screening.

“FRUITS BASKET” follows the story of Tohru Honda, a young girl who has to move in with the mysterious Soma family due to her unfortunate personal circumstances. She discovers that members of the Soma family are cursed, and transforms into an animal on the Chinese zodiac based on their birth years. She then tries to help them break the curse and restore harmony in the family.
