In the cooking anime, Gourmet Girl Graffiti (Koufuku Graffiti), Japanese animation studio, Shaft, has done quite the job in making animated food look so good, some fans have started considering it “food porn” and has gained the reputation for making viewers go hungry or crave whatever the heck the girls are eating.
Thanks to a special promotional collaboration between the anime and Akihabara UDX, several restaurants in the place known as the otaku capital of the world will be serving some of the food featured in the anime, including the Grilled Unagi (eel) and the soft Omurice.
Several well-known food establishments in Akihabara UDX’s Akiba Ichi will be part of this collaboration and they will not only be serving the food which made fans really hungry in the anime, but also distribute a few Gourmet Girl Graffiti merchandise, including clear files and illustrations. Drinks will also be served in Gourmet Girl Graffiti coasters, with each coaster representing one specific character, namely either Machiko, Shiina, Kirin, or Ryo.
The collaboration will begin this 14 March and will end on 22 March 2015. Akihabara UDX will also be featuring the anime in an exhibition over at the Tokyo Anime Center and the AKIBA INFO Center at the same time.
