Good news Yowamushi Pedal fans, because your favorite cyclists are getting their very own movie, and the series creator, Wataru Watanabe himself, is making the draft for the movie’s scenario. Titled Yowamushi Pedal: The Movie, it is scheduled for its theatrical release this Summer 2015!

A new video announcing the new movie has also been streamed by the TOHO Animation official youtube channel.

Yowamushi Pedal is based on Wataru Watanabe’s best-selling cycling manga which follows the otaku-turned climber, Sakamichi Onoda, and his teammates from Sohoku. Onoda usually rides his mommy bike from Chiba all the way to Akihabara (and mind you, that’s a looooong way to ride a bike) and is a naturally talented cyclist. His talents eventually get the attention of his teammates who invite him to join their bicycle club when his plans of reforming the now-defunct anime club fails.

As Wataru Watanabe himself will be writing the movie’s scenario, expect this one to be a completely new story and not a compilation movie just like Yowamushi Pedal: Re:RIDE, which was shown in Japan last September.
