Attention all Gundam fans! Here’s something you’ll want to keep your eyes out for in June this year! From the 4th of June to the 28th of June, Gundam will be docking at Takashimaya Department Store B2 and at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of Gunpla and the 50th Anniversary of Singapore’s Independence! There’s a ton of cool exhibits to look out for, and we have a quick breakdown of what you can expect!

RX-78-2 Gundam vs MS-06 Zaku II

As you make your way to Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, you will see the famous mobile suits from the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon, the Gundam and Zaku on display! While it’s not the same as the Odaiba full-scale Gundam, both of these statutes are still mighty tall, standing at 6 metres at a scale of 1:3 weighing in at two tonnes! Both statues will have light shows in the evening too! Here’s an image from the previous Gundam Docks at Hong Kong, perhaps we will have something similar to that!

Merchandise and Activities!

As you would expect from an event of this scale, you will be seeing activities taking place over the course of the event. As for the gunpla builders or general Gundam fans, there will be merchandise on sale as well! What kind of merchandise could it be? Gunpla Expo limited models? Premium Bandai kits? Super cheap discounted gunpla? Perhaps something entirely new?! Here’s another display from the Hong Kong display! Let’s hope we may get something like that too!

According to Bandai Namco Singapore’s Hobby Products Dept Manager, Mr Takayoshi Oyama, this event will be the biggest Gundam exhibition and showcase outside Japan! We should be pretty glad this event is taking place in Singapore huh? I hope I can make it back in time to attend this awesome event!

Gundam Docks in Singapore is a free exhibition that will be open from 10am to 9.30pm everyday! If you’d like to know more about Gundam Docks in Singapore, check out the website here!
