Manglobe has produced some very unforgettable anime, from Samurai Champloo to The World God Only Knows to Samurai Flamenco to their latest anime, Gangsta. However, Anime Anime has reported that the Japanese animation studio has now filed for bankruptcy after some speculation of the company’s money woes.

News of the studio’s money woes came into light as animator, Toshio Kobayashi, tweeted about the company’s insolvency, which resulted in his expected income for the next two months to be gone. The tweet has already been taken down, however, his requests for new employment aren’t. Hideto Komori (Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth director) also tweeted about the matter and said he is now looking into ways to get unpayed wages from a bankrupt company.

The anime anime report stated that the company has some serious debt and had been insolvent for quite some time now. Manglobe however has been investigating ways to solve its debt, however, things were so bad that the act was too little, too late as the company is already in a state where it cannot continue to do business anymore.

Another casualty for this is the anime movie, Genocidal Organ, which was set to premiere on 13 November. However, the movie has now been delayed. Fellow Project Itoh movie, Harmony, which was originally set to premiere on December, will have its schedule moved up to Genocidal Organ’s original release date to replace it.

According to the anime anime report,  “The film is slated for a November 13 opening. It would be realistic to move the production [of the movie] to another company, but it would require adjusting the schedule.”
