[JAPAN] 5 metre RX-78-2 Gundam and Char's Zaku II battle in Osaka's newly-opened Gundam Square

The very first official Gundam shop has finally opened in the Kansai region, and it can certainly give its Kanto counterparts a run for their money, as this new store, called the Gundam Square, features a dynamic monument to the Gundam franchise’s most iconic rivalry.

Measuring in at 5 metres in height, the monument features a duel that many Gundam fans are very familiar with – between Char Aznable’s dreaded Red Zaku II commander unit, and Amuro Ray’s legendary White Devil of a mobile suit, the RX-78-2 Gundam. It can be found right in front of the new Gundam Square, which can be found at the EXPOCITY Osaka.

Though it may not be as tall as the 18-metre life-size RX-78-2 in front of Diver City Odaiba in Tokyo, this display can also be quite impressive at night.

As you can see in the video, The Gundam Square also features a Gundam Cafe, which serves some scrumptious Gundam meals and drinks. Inside the store, it also features a 1/10 scale version of the Gundam Barbatos from the latest addition to the franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
