Remember those cute little Danboard cat variants that were given figures made by Japanese figure makers, Sen-Ti-Nel? They are finally getting themselves an anime adaptation this year, and it will be a TV anime titled Nyanbo!

The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2016, and will be aired via NHK-E TV. Nyanbo! will be a 5-minute animated short, which will be produced by Shirogumi Inc., who fans might now is the same studio behind Stand By Me, Doraemon, so expect some great 3D animation. It is expected to air at around 6:40 a.m. and at 5:20 p.m. every Tuesday starting October.

The Nyanboard figures featured several color variants, which included Tabby (bi-color), Pointed, Classic Danboard, Bi-Color (Gray), Black, Calico (Orange), Calico (Brown), Tabby (normal), White, and Bi-Color (Black), and as the new visual released by NHK suggests, we might see more than one Nyanboard in this anime.

Danboard was originally introduced in Kiyohiko Azuma’s popular comedy manga, Yotsuba&!, and has become the series’ own official cardboard robot mascot. However, it seems that Danboard will be getting its own anime even before the main series, Yotsube&!, has gotten one.
