Kyoto Animation’s Sound! Euphonium TV anime has inspired plenty of people back in Japan to take up playing musical instruments, so it would only be fitting that Yamaha, one of the world’s most foremost instrument makers, team up with the anime. This special collaboration will feature a brand new music lesson book/ smartphone app that will teach people the basics about learning these musical instruments featured in the anime.
Titled the Sound! Euphonium Kitauji High School Band Club 1st-Hand Experience Book, it teaches a few basics about music and also basic terminology and background on how brass bands practice and perform. Not only that, but it will also include interviews with the cast and staff of Sound! Euphonium.
It comes hand-in-hand with a special app for iPhone/iPad, which would help readers in performing several instruments, such as Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. The app also features some feedback on the reader’s performance, as Takahiro Sakurai reprises his role as Noboru Taki-sensei in the app to provide some critique.
Slated for release on 20 June 2016, the book and app combo will cost 1,600 yen, so grab your instrument and start practising, or you might get a tongue-lashing from Taki-sensei.
