The highly-anticipated anime adaptation of Chica Umino’s multi-award-winning and critically-acclaimed bestselling manga, March Comes in Like a Lion, has finally made its debut, and was viewed by 40 million households all over Japan. The debut also inspired certain big names in the industry, including the still-on-hiatus Kentaro Miura, the mangaka of Berserk, to do some tribute artworks.
Both Kentaro Miura’s Berserk and Chica Umino’s March Comes In Like A Lion are serialised in the pages of Young Animal magazine. According to Crunchyroll, “the two authors have engaged in a sort of mutual admiration conversation over the years that has included swapping special covers on volumes of the manga.”
Another big name doing some March Comes in Like a Lion tribute art is the SHAFT design duo, Gekidan Inu Curry, who designed the witches for Madoka Magica. They drew omo on a studio whiteboard. SHAFT is animating the series.
