Legendary mangaka, Osamu Tezuka, blazed the trail for Japan’s mecha genre with Astro Boy. This March, the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum in Hyougo will be hosting a talk event featuring two mecha anime legends, called “Mushi Pro no Idenshi ~ Robot o Tsukutta Otoko-tachi“. Gundam creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino, and VOTOMS creator, Ryousuke Takahashi, will be hosting the talk event.

Did you know that these two legends have a lot in common with Osamu Tezuka? Not only are they all highly regarded in the anime industry, but they also worked for the same company at one time. Both Tomino and Takahashi started out in Mushi Productions, and there, they met Tezuka.

During the event, both anime legends will be talking about working with Tezuka in Mushi Productions. They will also be talking about their motivations for creating mecha anime and their experiences in the anime industry. The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum will be hosting the talk event on 12th March. Tickets for the museum cost 700 yen, however, they are limiting the seats to just 500 people maximum.
