They are extolling the pleasures of eating cooling foods during hot Japanese summers, as well as expounding on the need for balanced nutrition — hence, Calorie Mate! There seems to be a trend in Japan for animation studios and advertising companies to cast recognizable, big-name seiyuu in small roles — mostly for comedic value. Another recent casting coup that made waves was the inclusion of such popular and important voice as actors such as Tomokazu Sugita, Takehito Koyasu, and Toshiyuki Morikawa as Birds 1, 2, and 3 respectively, in “Elegant Youkai Life Apartment”.
