Mecha anime legend, Shoji Kawamori, has brought us plenty of unforgettable robot anime like Macross and Aquarion. Now, the renowned anime creator is back with a new Satelight-animated series titled Juushinki Pandora.

During his “New Project Briefing” event, Kawamori revealed that the new anime will premiere in 2018. He also introduced the new series in a brand new PV:

It seems like the anime will have plenty of Chinese influences, with two Chinese main characters. The event confirmed that Tomoaki Maeno will star as Leon Lau, a genius exiled scientist fighting against the organisms known as B.R.A.I. (Biological Revolutionary of Accelerated Intelligence). Starring alongside Maeno is Nao Touyama, who voices Chloe Lau, Leon’s non-blood-related sister.

The story follows Leon and Chloe as they battle B.R.A.I with M.O.E.V. (Multi-purpose Organic Evolution Vehicle) variable units. These are machines which underwent their own evolution and nearly wiped out humanity. Somehow, Leon got caught up in the incident which made them, and it led to his exile. Now living with Chloe under a  “family pact,” he does research in order to counter them.
